Patient First, a network of urgent care centers in the Mid-Atlantic, announced seven centers in Virginia would test for the coronavirus (COVID-19) with “drive-up” options.
The testing is available everyday by appointment only and is free for insured patients. Uninsured patients pay $90 for the exam and $51.31 for the lab bill.
“To make an appointment, call your preferred Center and enter 5 during the recording to speak with the Front Desk,” according to the news release. “In order to make an appointment to be tested, patients must be at least 5 years old and must meet screening criteria, which are based on CDC guidance.”
When patients arrive for their appointment, they must follow the “Coronavirus Testing” signs, park and wait for a staff member to take a sample, which will be sent to the lab for testing. Patients should self quarantine pending results and a nurse will call once they are available, according to the news release.
This service is currently offered in two locations: Hampton, 2304 West Mercury Blvd. and Chesapeake, 705 N. Battlefield Blvd.
In addition, three locations in Richmond and two locations also offer the drive-up service option. Click here for more information.
