Police looking for man who offered candy to children in James City County

James City County Police are investigating after an unknown man reportedly offered candy to children in the Villages of Westminster neighborhood.  

Just before 5 p.m. Sunday, police received a report that a man had stopped his car and offered a lollipop to children playing in the 6200 block of Tewkesbury Way. The children declined his offer.

The unknown man drove away after a male resident who lives nearby came out of his home, police said. 

Witnesses reported the unknown man was driving a beige sedan with a bumper sticker that read either “Jesus Saves” or “Save Jesus.” The man was described as a white with short hair and glasses, He is estimated to be between 63-70 years old, police said.

The investigation is still ongoing.
