WILLIAMSBURG — After a successful first year, Cannon Country Fest returns to New Kent Winery Aug. 23.
Cannon Country 107.9’s concert-style festival, billed as “A Nashville to New Kent Experience,” aims to bring a little bit of Nashville to the Historic Triangle. Cannon Country 107.9 is owned by Local Daily Media, which also owns WYDaily.com.
“We’re looking forward to bringing three stellar artists from ‘Nashville to New Kent,’ which is our theme again for this year,” said Gideon Dean, Communications Director for Cannon Country 107.9 FM. “Justin Andrews will be bringing a full band, including fiddle and pedal steel players, so we’re looking forward to him bringing his Oklahoma roots with the Nashville country twist.”
Before his set, we’ll have a writers-round style featuring the duo Carvin Walls, who’ve had success with songs they’ve written on social media, as well as Tim James,” Dean continued. “Tim James is a Grammy-nominated songwriter whose hits range from ‘Love Like Crazy’ (recorded by Lee Brice) to ‘My List’ (recorded by Toby Keith) to ‘All I Ask For Anymore’ (recorded by Bucky Covington), as well as singles and album cuts from George Strait, Rodney Atkins, Chris Stapleton and more.”
The event will run from 6:30-9:30 at New Kent Winery. While VIP tickets are sold out, general admission tickets are still available for $25 and are on sale through the winery’s website.
“Between the writers round, the full-band set, and the hits everyone is ready to bring, it’s really going to be a well-rounded country music experience,” Dean added.
VIP parking and gates will open at 4:30, while parking lots and gates to the show will open to general admission ticket holders at 5:30. The concert will begin at 6:30. Free water stations will be placed around the event and food trucks will be on site.
