WILLIAMSBURG — Simply Smile Family & Cosmetic Dentistry is a new dental practice that opened on Monticello across from New Town on Sep. 17.
The practice is privately owned by Dr. Amber Hogan. The practice serves both adults and children and accepts several insurance carriers; however, she also notes that if they don’t participate with a client’s insurance, they will still file.
“Simply Smile is a place where you can be open and honest about not just your dental health but your overall health, because it’s connected,” Hogan said about the practice.
Prior to starting her own practice, Hogan worked as a Dental Hygienist for six years before attending dental school. She then worked as a dentist at another practice in the Williamsburg area for four and a half years.
“I left to do dentistry my own way and do my own thing. I wanted to make my own business decisions, whether it was a product change or paint colors,” said Hogan about her choice to start her own practice. “When it’s your practice, you’re really steering the ship, and I have nothing but great things to say about where I was at. I had a lot of fun. I appreciate the time I spent at both practices that I was at before.”
Services that are offered at the practice include Invisalign, crowns, implants, teeth whitening, teeth extractions, veneers, basic fillings, root canals and just a little bit of everything, according to Hogan. One of the services she finds the most fun is Botox for both cosmetic and jaw pain.
“People often think about Botox as freezing your face when in reality, if it’s administered at the right dose and injection site, it’s an awesome tool for TMJ relief and headaches,” she explained. “I always think, who better to do your Botox than the dentist who stares at faces all day, every day?”
