Children refugees get free health check-ups this weekend

NEWPORT NEWS — The Hampton Roads Refugee Relief is hosting a free health clinic at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula on Sunday.

The event is open to all children refugees in the Hampton Roads area.

Dr. Rabia Jafri, HR3 chairwoman, said Eastern Virginia Medical School staff will provide health screenings for children, ranging from visual and dental checks to general and sports physicals.

The Hampton Roads Refugee Relief Health Fair is at the Boys & Girls Club of the Virginia Peninsula, 429 Thorncliff Drive from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
