GLOUCESTER— Machicomoco State Park will host the 2nd Annual Earth Day Celebration on April 18. Festivities will be held in the Interpretive Area from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Guests will be able to stroll through the meadows of Machicomoco to experience an exciting day of discovery featuring a wide variety of incredible event partners. The celebration will include hands-on activities that highlight conservation paired with fun learning experiences that allow you to uncover fascinating insights into the environmental work happening right here in our region.
“This celebration encourages people to get outside, enjoy natural spaces and remember why environmental protection matters on a personal level,” said Machicomoco State Park Manager Adam Newland. “Earth Day raises global awareness about environmental issues like climate change, pollution, habitat loss and clean water access. Many people only learn about these topics through Earth Day activities, so we are excited to share our resources with the public and have fun while making a positive impact.”
Guests can bring a lunch, or they can treat themselves to something tasty from one of the food trucks that will be onsite.
