WILLIAMSBURG— Busch Gardens announces its upcoming season and events planned so far over the coming months.
Kids Weekends have begun at Busch Gardens and will continue on weekends through April 19. The event includes an all-new show at the Globe Theater called “When the Pages Turn,” which is summarized as follows: a young girl named Chloe, as she rediscovers the magic of kindness and creativity through the stories she loves. Select weekends will also see the appearance of Peppa Pig and the Power Rangers at the park for meet-and-greet opportunities.
The Food & Wine festival will also be returning for its 13th year with new flavors and new menu items, saying the event has become a great tradition. The event is also cited to be Virginia’s largest food and wine festival. Busch Gardens says more details about the event will be coming soon.
Two new shows will also be debuting this summer. The first show is called “Across the Pond,” which is a tribute to the UK legends that will be at the Globe Theater. The park says the show is about exploring the music of the UK. The second show is a returning one called “Kinetix,” which was the end-of-the-night summer spectacular show. The display will be returning to the Park’s Royal Palace Theater this summer.
The Concert Series lineup has also added an additional show which will see the Beach Boys on Saturday, April 25 at the Royal Palace Theater. Other artists for the series include:
- Flo Rida, May 2
- Pop 2000 Tour with Chris Kirkpatrick of *NSYNC, O-Town, Ryan Cabrera & LFO, May 16
- Hoobastank, May 30
- Skillet, June 13
Verbolten: Forbidden Turn will also be opening this spring and is the new park attraction for this year.
“The ride experience from the coaster itself will be what people love and all the great elements of that ride, but the experience and the storytelling will really be a whole new kind of twist and turn to the great story of Verbolten and the Black Forest,” said Busch Gardens Williamsburg’s Park President Kevin Lembke. “[The story] will start right away in the queue line with some lead-up to the ride itself, with some backstory, some new characters that will be unveiled that you’ll see through your ride experience.”
So far, no official release date has been announced yet; however, Busch Gardens says that as it gets closer, there will still be an exclusive preview to allow members to experience the ride before it opens to the general public.
“We celebrated our 50th anniversary last year, and now continuing the great tradition of the park with so many kinds of new reasons to visit,” said Lembke while also talking about the reasons to visit that are expected of the park, such as the coasters and sand shows.
