JAMES CITY COUNTY — James City County Parks and Recreation and Spohn Ranch Skateparks will hold the next Skatepark Community Design Workshop on Thursday, Oct. 9, 6-8 p.m. at the James City County Recreation Center.

The JCC skatepark is moving to Warhill Sports Complex, and this is a chance for residents to help shape the future of skateboarding in the area. Public input is requested to help create a “bigger, badder and better” skatepark and destination.

Whether a skater, parent, fan or neighbor, James City County Parks and Recreation is seeking input. The community design workshops are being held to provide more information and updates on the design process, address concerns and to answer any questions.

Remaining meetings:

  • Thursday, Oct. 9, 6-8 p.m. — JCCRC, Rooms B & C
  • Thursday, Oct. 30, time TBA — Virtual (follow on Facebook and Instagram to stay updated)

The design process is led by Spohn Ranch Skateparks, a national leader in skatepark design.

More information or updates on the new Skatepark at WSC can be found online or by contacting the JCC Park Planner at 757-259-5422.
