James City County Seeks Input on New Warhill Skatepark

(James City County)

JAMES CITY COUNTY — James City County Parks and Recreation and Spohn Ranch Skateparks are inviting the community to help shape the future of skateboarding in the area.

The JCC skatepark is moving to Warhill Sports Complex, and public input is requested to help create a “bigger, badder and better skatepark and destination.” Whether a skater, parent, fan or neighbor, the public is asked to take an online survey.

Community design workshops are being held to provide more information about the design process, construction timeline and to answer any questions. Light refreshments will be served.

Those who can’t make it in person are encouraged to complete the online survey by Sept. 19 to share their feedback. Everyone who participates in the survey will be entered into a drawing for a $100 cash prize, courtesy of Triangle Skateboard Alliance, the county said.

The design process is led by Spohn Ranch Skateparks, which the county called a national leader in innovative skatepark design.
