WILLIAMSBURG— Local author Andrew Parillo is looking to help people who want to protect the value of their money after inflation and learn how to invest independently with his book “Beat the Wealth Management Hustle” published in January.
Parillo explained entered the field of investment management shortly after leaving active duty in the Air Force. He said while it wasn’t something he was originally passionate about, that changed later as he found it was a competitive industry, and he liked the competition.
Parillo owned his own investment advisory firm for 25 years which closed just as the COVID-19 pandemic began. He had initially intended to retire, but he began to feel bored by retirement, so he decided to write a book aimed at all investors of any size, whether they had a little or a lot of money to work with.
“It’s focused on advocating transparency and disclosure in the investment industry,” Parillo explained. “It really encourages people to look at their money and the way institutions manage their money, which is just in a very structured and disciplined way. There’s an advantage to a structured approach to evaluating your own investment program, whether it’s small or large. And that’s what I’m really advocating, and showing people in the book how to do that.”
He adds the book is somewhat biographical so that the readers can get a frame of reference for who he is and where he is coming from. He also explained he wove in some perspective on people’s personal financial well-being.
The book is available to purchase from book retailers he hopes to schedule book signings in the future. For more information about Parillo and his book, visit his official website.
