YORKTOWN — York County residents were invited to a public forum on Jan. 18 to view proposed options for a new dockmaster building.
The new building would replace the current building and restroom facilities located at 480 Water St., with planned upgrades to include ADA-compliant bathrooms. The plans were initiated by the York County Board of Supervisors in September 2023.
Proposed renderings of six current six options being considered were shown during the forum. These options vary in height from just over 19 feet to almost 24 feet, and all include a cupola that adds approximately 10 feet to the height.
Also available to review at the forum was the plan for the addition of a small office building adjacent to and just behind the upper level of the Riverwalk Landing parking terrace. This building would be accessible from the parking terrace and also from Buckner Street.
County staff were on hand at the forum and available to answer questions and receive input from citizens.
The six options for the combined dockmaster/bathroom facility, as well as the office building, are now available online along with a public input form where citizens may share their thoughts on these designs. Citizens can also send comments via email to Earl Anderson at andersone@yorkcounty.gov.
