Back in late October, WYDaily visited the construction site at 129 Forest Heights Road in Williamsburg and reported that the historic home was nearing completion. The house has been built for April Springfield and her son. Springfield has already decided how the inside of her new home will look like.

“It feels exciting! I finally see everything coming along with picking the inside. I’m kind of impatient because I can’t wait to see everything put together. Everything just feels great,” Springfield said, in an October interview with WYDaily.

The house has been built in partnership with Alquist, a 3D printing home construction company that has provided the state-of-the-art COBOD 3D Printer.

The 3D home will be approximately 1,200-square-feet, with three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. All of the outer walls of the house have been 3D-printed using concrete as the preferred material of choice.

Springfield has also worked on the house to fulfill her obligation of three hundred volunteer hours of “sweat equity” towards building her home. It has been almost three years since Springfield first applied to Habitat For Humanity’s homeowner’s program. She’s extremely grateful and is looking forward to moving into her new home with her family.
