Those experiencing Yorktown can do so by trolley again soon.
The Yorktown Trolley experienced a delay in services due to the coronavirus pandemic, but starting Monday riders will get to hop on and ride around town again, according to a post from Visit Yorktown.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the free trolley service in Yorktown, which is used to take visitors around various sites in the area.
The trolleys recently have been equipped with new technology such as the SPOT ETA app which allows riders to track the trolley’s arrival while waiting at their pick-up stop.
New precautions have also been created to protect public health and safety. As passengers enter the trolley there will be a hand sanitizer station they’ll be encouraged to use. Seats and other surfaces also will be frequently wiped down and sanitized between rides.
There will also be a limited capacity on the trolley to encourage social distancing and riders will be required to wear a mask unless a medical condition prevents them from doing so.
The Yorktown Trolley’s route travels from two main historical attractions in the area, the Yorktown Battlefield Visitor Center and the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown.
The trolley also passes by multiple convenient shops, Historic Main Street, Riverwalk Landing, Yorktown Beach, the Watermen’s Museum and more.
The trolley is also temperature-controlled and ADA-accessible.
