
Mark you calendars: Fido Fest is coming to Jamestown Beach in less than two weeks.
The annual event hosted by the James City County Parks & Recreation and the Heritage Humane Society features family and dog-friendly activities with games, contests, food and community vendors and more, according to the news release.
Admission is $5 per car, by cash or check.
The contests include Best Trick with a two-minute limit, a Fido Fashion show with categories for Best Overall, Best Couple, Funniest and Most Creative and a Dog Photo Contest for Best Smile, Best Costume and Precious Pup. Enter for the Dog Photo Contest here.
Two new attractions are dog yoga and an off-leash dog play area by dog weight.
Fido Fest is at Jamestown Beach Event Park, 2205 Jamestown Road, on March 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Organizers advise against retractable leashes and all pets must be leashed except in the off-leash play areas; dogs must have current vaccinations.
