Gordmans, a nationwide retail department store chain, is opening in Hampton.

The business will replace the old Peebles store location, 227 Fox Hill Road, Suite 19 in Willow Oaks Village Square.

“Stage is excited to confirm it will convert the Peebles located in Hampton, VA to a Gordmans store,” Cheryl Moralez, senior manager of Brand Publicity for Stage, wrote in an email, adding many Stage department stores will change to Gordmans this year. “Gordmans stores receive fresh new merchandise deliveries weekly and a wide array of popular brand name merchandise for the entire family at everyday low prices.”

Once the store opens, customers can ship and pick up their Amazon orders at the store’s Amazon Counter, according to the news release.

To celebrate the new store, the retailer is hosting a Grand Opening Brand Bash Celebration with a ribbon cutting and a $1,000 check presented to Kecoughtan High School, according to the news release.

The first 100 people will get a tote bag and the chance to win a $50 or $5 gift card and Peebles credit card holders can use the card at the new store.

“We are proud to be part of so many Virginia communities, helping to sustain jobs, quality of life and economic growth,” Michael Glazer, president and CEO of Stage Stores, said in a news release. “Just as exciting is our strategy in bringing the Gordmans shopping experience to almost all of our department store locations across the country during 2020 and positively impacting even more cities.”

The Gordmans Grand Opening Brand Bash Celebration is at 227 Fox Hill Road, Suite 19, March 17 at 9 a.m. For more information, visit Gordmans website.
