With more sunshine, local parks extend visiting hours

Spring is in the air and that means more time to experience the great outdoors at some of the local parks.

Parks in York County, James City County, and the Williamsburg have updated their operating hours to reflect the longer days of sunshine.

York County

Back Creek Park Tennis Courts, will be open from April 1 to Oct. 31 on Monday from 4:30 to 9 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and then from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. The courts will only be open on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m from May 1 to Oct. 1.
Chisman Creek Park, open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from April 1 to August 31.
New Quarter Park, open daily from 8 a.m. to dusk from April 1 to Oct. 31.
Wolf Trap Park, open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from April 1 to Aug. 31.
The McReynolds Athletic Complex, open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from March 1 to Oct. 31.

Quarter Path Recreation Center, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 1-8 p.m.
Waller Mill Park, March 11-31 from 8 a.m to 6 p.m., April 1-28 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., April 29 to Sept. 21 from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

James City County Marina, 8 a.m. to sunset daily, marina boat ramp open 24 hours a day
James City County Marina Office, open daily 8 a.m to 4 p.m. until May
Chickahominy Riverfront Park, open daily sunrise to 10 p.m.
Chickahominy Park office and store, open daily 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Little Creek Reservoir Park, open daily from 7 a.m. to sunset
Little Creek Reservoir office and store, open Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to sunset and closed Monday through Friday through March 3. Open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to sunset and Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to sunset beginning April 1.
Jamestown Beach Event Park, open daily 8 a.m. to sunset
Jamestown Beach Event Park Concessions, open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Upper County Park, open 8 a.m. to sunset daily
Upper County Park Concessions, open during outdoor pool operating hours from Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day.
