The Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra will kick off its 35th anniversary with a pair of concerts featuring the music of Mozart, Schubert and Beethoven.
Violinist Stefan Jackiw will make his second appearance with the symphony for a program including Mozart’s overture to the “Marriage of Figaro,” Shubert’s Symphony No. 3 and Beethoven’s violin concerto.
Jackiw has appeared as a soloist with the Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, New York, Philadelphia, and San Francisco symphony orchestras, among others.
The concerts also mark the beginning of the final season for Janna Hymes, the Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra’s music director. Hymes will step down after 15 years at the end of the season.

The concerts will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 10 and 11 at the Kimball Theatre, 428 W Duke of Gloucester St, Williamsburg. Tickets, ranging from $20 to $58, are available on the Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra’s website.
Jackiw will also lead a violin master class at 2 p.m. Sept. 8 at the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, 215 Richmond Road, Williamsburg. The class is free and open to the public. Interested students should contact Jack Wagner at jwagnerip@gmail.com.
