If you’re interested in building a closer relationship with the officers who keep James City County safe, now is your time.

On March 30, the James City County Police Department will host Coffee With a Cop, an informal event that allows citizens to sit down, grab a cup of joe and chat with police officers in a comfortable setting.

The event will be held from 1-3 p.m. at the Williamsburg Marketplace Starbucks, located at 240 McLaws Circle, according to a county news release.

Coffee With a Cop is a national event aimed at building stronger relationships between law enforcement and citizens. Law enforcement agencies across the country host Coffee With a Cop events.

The initiative is supported by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.

Anyone interested in hosting a Coffee With a Cop in their neighborhood or at their business should contact Sgt. John LeClaire at 757-259-5174.
