Winter weather isn’t in the rearview mirror just yet.
Light rain is expected to fall in Greater Williamsburg overnight — and while temperatures are forecast to remain above freezing, the temperature of the pavement may not, according to a Virginia Department of Transportation news release.
Snowmelt and rain may freeze on roads, and VDOT is warning drivers to be aware of the potential for slick patches on their Tuesday morning commute.
VDOT encourages drivers to drive at a reduced speed and to increase their distance behind cars ahead of them during winter weather. According to the release, VDOT crews will treat roads with sand and salt to help melt ice and improve traction.
Current road conditions can be found on VDOT’s website.
