A 71-year-old Yorktown man died after he was struck by a vehicle on Kiln Creek Parkway Thursday evening.
The accident occurred around 7:10 p.m. on Kiln Creek Parkway, north of Royal Colven Drive, in York County, said Sgt. Michelle Anaya of the Virginia State Police.
Investigators believe a 2015 Audi Q3 was traveling in the right lane, headed northbound on Kiln Creek Parkway when the driver struck a pedestrian attempting to walk across the traffic lanes, Anaya said.
The pedestrian was identified as Yorktown resident Woohyun Yun. He was taken to Riverside Regional Hospital, where he died of his injuries, Anaya said.
Police do not believe alcohol nor speed were a factor in the accident and no charges had been filed against the driver as of 6 a.m. Friday, Anaya said.
The accident is still under investigation.
