City offers commemorative brick pavers to honor veterans

It’s not too soon to think about Veterans Day.

Virginia Beach residents can now order inscribed paving stones to honor anyone who has served in any branch of the U.S. Armed Services, the City said in a release Monday. The brick pavers will be installed in the William L. “Billy” Myers, Sr. Veterans Memorial Park in time for Veterans Day, which is celebrated on November 11. The park is across from the Virginia Beach Convention Center, behind the Tidewater Veterans Memorial at Nineteenth Street.

The commemorative stones have a painted finish and come in two sizes, according to the release. A 4-by-8-inch paver has room for three lines and costs $100. An 8-by-8-inch stone has space for six lines and costs $200.

To order a brick paver from the Virginia Beach Mayor’s Veterans Committee, fill out a form that is available online here. Or call Joann Harkins at 757-467-9367 or Stuart Myers at 757-481-6513.
