A Yorktown man found unconscious in an apartment is facing charges after deputies from the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office discovered he had drugs on him.
Deputies responded to the 200 block of Piccadilly Loop in the Grafton Station apartments Sept. 10 and found Bradley S. Bruce, 31, passed out from an apparent drug overdose, Lt. Dennis Ivey with YPSO said.
Deputies found drug paraphernalia as well as an unknown amount of what they believed were illegal drugs.
Bruce was transported to Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News for treatment.
The substances were taken to the Department of Forensic Science for testing, and the results came back positive for heroin and Fentanyl, a synthetic opiate used to treat severe pain.

The deputy eventually stopped them and noticed Tillman was lethargic and sweating profusely when he approached the car.
He also saw a plastic straw containing white residue and a crack pipe in the vehicle.

Police: Man Charged for Throwing Inhaler at Officer
A Williamsburg man was arrested Monday after attempting to assault a police officer while upset at a woman he knew, police said.
Brian Thomas Koch, 38, was having a “loud” argument with the woman at a home in the 100 block of Merrimac Trail Monday when officers from the Williamsburg Police Department arrived, Maj. Greg Riley said.
The woman told officers she wanted to leave, so officers were attempting to help her gather her things when Koch got “very upset,” picked up an inhaler and threw it at one of the officers, Riley said.
The inhaler missed the officer, who arrested him and transported him to Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail, where he was charged with misdemeanor assault and felony assault on law enforcement.
