York County’s Department of Fire and Life Safety will replace its biomedical emergency equipment this year.
The Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to spend $699,161 from its capital improvements fund for fiscal year 2015, which began July 1, to provide the new gear.
County Administrator James McReynolds said the county’s fleet of ambulances will be equipped with new cardiac monitoring and defibrillation devices, CPR aid and other equipment necessary for emergency medical services.
The new equipment will replace existing, aging biomedical equipment on ambulances, he said.
