Two separate investigations involving the Tri-Rivers Drug Task Force resulted in two arrests for intent to distribute drugs in James City County earlier this week.

The task force and James City County investigators served a search warrant at an apartment in the 100 block of Stratford Road on Tuesday as part of an ongoing drug investigation, Deputy Chief Steve Rubino of the James City County Police Department said. At the apartment, investigators and the task force found more than a half ounce but less than five pounds of marijuana and a small amount of oxycodone pills.

The suspect, 25-year-old Nigel Thomas Eustace, was charged with one felony count of possession with intent to distribute and one felony count of possession of a schedule two drug without a prescription.

In a separate incident, the task force and James City County investigators served a search warrant Wednesday at a residence in the 7200 block of Canal Street in Lanexa, where they found more than five pounds of marijuana, a firearm and a sum of cash.

Quang Phuong Nguyen, 25, was charged with felony counts of possession with intent to distribute more than five pounds of marijuana, transporting more than five pounds into the Commonwealth of Virginia and possession of a firearm while distributing more than a pound of marijuana.

Rubino said the two arrests are likely unrelated.

The Tri-Rivers Drug Task Force consists of investigators from Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, James City County Police, Mathews County Sheriff’s Office, Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office, Poquoson Police Department, York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office and the Virginia State Police Bureau of Investigation.
