York County, Riverside to Offer Program for Caregivers of Older Adults

YorkCountyLogoYork County is joining with the Riverside Center for Excellence in Aging and Lifelong Health for a 10-hour program on caring for middle-aged and older adults.

The program is geared toward families and professionals who serve as caregivers for older people, according to a news release from York County. It is built around five two-hour modules that call for participants to meet weekly for five weeks.

Among the items covered are coping mechanisms, local, state and national resources, and ways to enhance the quality of life for the care recipients and givers.

The program will be held from 4 to 6:15 p.m. Thursdays from Feb. 6 through March 6 at the Senior Center of York at 5314 George Washington Memorial Highway (Route 17). Though there is a $35 charge for participants, there are scholarships available.
