JCC Notebook: Input Sought on Ware Creek Watershed Plan; Dog Tags Due

James City County is seeking more citizen input on the Ware Creek Watershed Management Plan. The wheelchair basketball tournament has been canceled. Dog tags must be on county dogs by Jan. 31 and the Planning Commission Policy Committee will meet Jan. 17. Read on for more.

Citizen Input Wanted on Ware Creek Watershed Management Plan

James City County’s Engineering and Resource Protection Division is seeking additional comment on the Ware Creek Watershed Management Plan – Watershed Protection and Restoration Goals and Strategic Actions.

Information about the plan can be found at the bottom of the screen on the county’s website.

Comments must be received by Jan. 31.

Wheelchair Basketball Tournament Canceled

The Wheelchair Basketball Tournament scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at the James City County Recreation Center has been canceled.

Dog Tags

Dog tags must be on dogs in James City County by Jan. 31. Tags can be purchased at the treasurer’s office or Satellite Services and a valid rabies certificate is required. If the rabies certificate is on file with the Treasurer’s Office, citizens may use ePayment.

Multi-year tags are available.

Planning Commission Policy Committee

The James City County Planning Commission Policy Committee will meet to discuss pawnshops at 4 p.m. Jan. 17. The meeting is open to the public and will be held in Building A of the James City County Government Center at 101 Mounts Bay Rd.

Strictly Business

The next Strictly Business event will take place this month. The event provides a great opportunity for new residents in the community, as well as established residents to network with area businesses and professionals. Free food and drinks will be provided and there will be music by 92.3 The Tide and door prizes will be awarded.

The next Strictly Business even will take place from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24 at Colonial Heritage Ballroom.
