Singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw will headline William & Mary’s 2013 Charter Day concert.
The event will begin at 8 p.m. Feb. 9 in the Kaplan Arena. Ticket information will be released soon.
DeGraw’s debut album, “Chariot,” was released in 2003 and went platinum. Viewers of The WB’s series “One Tree Hill” know the lyrics to his hit single, “I Don’t Want to Be,” which served as the show’s theme song for nine seasons. Last year, he appeared in the finale to perform the song.
DeGraw released a self-titled second album in 2008 and a third, titled “Free,” in 2009. His fourth album, “Sweeter,” was released in 2011. Its single, “Not Over You,” reached the top spot on the Adult Top 40 chart. He also competed on the 2012 season of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”
Last year, Third Eye Blind and Ben Kweller performed at the Charter Day concert. In 2011, The Roots headlined the event. This year, the concert is sponsored by Global Flight Relief, a Newport News-based nonprofit that provides air transportation for humanitarian and disaster relief agencies around the world.
