Elementary student is helping kids at CHKD at Yorktown Cruise-ins

Bentley Jefferson has been raising funds for the Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD) through the “Anthem LemonAid” Initiative since 2012. she was 3.5 years old and when she saw a commercial on TV about selling lemonaid to help kids with cancer. She ask her parents about doing it. Her parents David and Kathy Jefferson helped her build the Anthem Lemonaid stand.

During the month of July, she sells lemonade at the Weekly Saturday Night Cruise-ins at the Coastal Community Church in Yorktown, Bentley and her parents are very active members of the Classic Cruisers Car Club of Virginia (CCCC) which sponsors the weekly event from April thru October (Bentley is the youngest member of the club). She also does the lemonade stand event at her home in Newport News during Anthem LemonAid weekend, as well as at other events such as the Virginia Fall Classic CHKD benefit Car Show held at Newport News Park in October.
