WILLIAMSBURG — Four business and civic leaders have been appointed to the William & Mary Board of Visitors, VGov. Abigail Spanberger announced recently.

Jeff Bourne, Jennifer Davis, Osman “Oz” Parvaiz and Cynthia Hudson will begin four-year terms July 1. Hudson returns to the board after previously serving from 2020 to 2024.

They will succeed Kendrick Ashton, Steve Huebner, Mike Petters and Laura Rigas. The 17-member board serves as the governing body of the university.

“We warmly welcome our newly appointed members,” said William & Mary President Katherine A. Rowe. “I look forward to working with each of them as we advance the mission of the university.”

Rector Charles E. Poston thanked the outgoing members, saying they helped “propel William & Mary to new heights as a national preeminent university.”

Bourne is chief legal officer for the Branch Group and previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates. Davis is a former senior U.S. diplomat and now teaches at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Parvaiz is a Capital One executive who serves as chief procurement officer after more than 25 years with the company. Hudson is a former chief deputy attorney general of Virginia and currently runs a private legal practice and dispute resolution work.

Outgoing members served between one and two terms and held leadership roles across committees including athletics, academic affairs and financial affairs.

Hudson’s return follows prior service as vice chair of administration, buildings and grounds and chair of audit, risk and compliance.

The Board of Visitors oversees major university decisions including budget, policy and institutional strategy.
