
YORK COUNTY — Primrose School of Yorktown officially celebrated its grand opening on Jan. 20.
The school offers an exclusive, research-informed, balanced learning curriculum that blends purposeful play with nurturing guidance. According to the school, the curriculum helps inspire curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion.
It is the first Primrose School location in the county. The school will serve students aged 6 weeks to 5 years old in 13 different classrooms.

“After months of preparation, teamwork, and community support, we are thrilled to welcome families into our beautiful new school. Today marks the beginning of a joyful journey filled with learning, laughter, and growth and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you. Thank you to everyone who has cheered us on, toured our classrooms, met our teachers, and believed in the vision of bringing high‑quality early education to Yorktown. The adventure starts now, and we can’t wait to see our Primrose students shine,” the organization shared on Facebook.
Attending the grand opening celebration were Amber and Michael Lempke, Franchise Owners of Primrose School of Yorktown, Amy Jackson, Chief Franchise Officer of Primrose Schools and Chairman Douglas Holroyd, York County Board of Supervisors. Short speeches were given, along with classroom and facility tours.
The school is located at 427 Grafton Drive, Yorktown.
