YORKTOWN — York County’s third annual Juneteenth celebration is slated for Saturday, June 15 at the McReynolds Athletic Complex in Yorktown.
The free event takes place from 3 to 8 p.m. and will feature Radio Host and MC Doc Christian of The Groove 101.9 and music by DJ General XO. The band Slapnation performs from 6 to 8 p.m., followed by Movies in the Park at 8:30 p.m. featuring The Little Mermaid (2023).
Other highlights include:
- Children’s activities
- Bounce house
- Community groups and guest speakers
- Food trucks and concessions to purchase, and
- Free popcorn
Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets for seating. The county stresses this is an alcohol-free event.
