Leroy, the bird watcher

What is your pet’s name?
Leroy.

What is the breed of your pet?
Schnauzer/Terrier/Chow Chow mix.

How was your pet’s name chosen?
I named this little guy after the song “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown” by Jim Croce.

Does your pet have a favorite walking route?
Leroy loves to take trips to the North Bank Trail (Texas Beach) on cool, dry mornings. There’s plenty of wildlife, plants, and other dogs to sniff. When I find a good spot by the water, he lays down and watches the herons and water fowls float on down the James River.

What’s the most embarrassing thing your pet has ever done?
He farted while hugging me (he stands on his hind legs to do this) one time and got a bad case of the zoomies for about ten minutes.

Does your pet have a pet peeve? If so, what is it?
Leroy is very afraid of strangers. Tall, bearded, hat-wearing men seem to be his worst nightmare. Once the strangers take a seat and give him his favorite treat, peanut butter, and some quality alone time, he tends to warm up and cool his jets. He goes from nervous to sweet with enough attention.

If your pet could answer any question, but just one, what would you ask?
Before I adopted you, who owned you that made you so skeptical about certain strangers? Who hurt you? Everything is okay, now. I wish you could understand that.
