This local RE/MAX location is a ‘Miracle Office’

VIRGINIA BEACH — Regardless of how difficult things can sometimes seem, miracles do happen.

For the children served by the local Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters, sometimes miracles happen $1 at a time.

Recently, the RE/MAX Alliance Office in Virginia Beach was named as a “Miracle Office,” by the Children’s Miracle Network.

To be specific, they were given the designation again.

As in 22 years in a row.

Over that time period RE/MAX associates have donated $166,000 through the Children’s Miracle Network’s Miracle System. In the process, Miracle Agents donate money through Miracle Listings, which goes to the local CHKD – one of 170 Children’s Miracle Network designated hospitals.

“It’s touching to see an office with so much heart,” said Shelley Puishys, transaction coordinator, Marketing and Development for RE/MAX Alliance. “It made me feel more connected to everyone here right away, to see that our agents are actively involved with over 24 causes in the Hampton Roads community.”

Puishys said that RE/MAX associates can make a donation after each residential or commercial transaction. The company has streamlined the process so that associates can easily select to have a portion of their commission check go directly to the cause. Honor Cards (Thank You cards) are automatically generated and can be sent to buyers or sellers, or property owners if it involves property management.

Associate Broker Kathy Eckhardt said one of the best parts of her job is the commitment to help CKHD.

“The generosity and passion for CHKD is apparent throughout the office from the Lemonade stand to the Santa visit,” she said. “Our agents and staff members continue to hold the children and families very close to our hearts.”

This year, CHKD will use the funds to support specific programs including Child Life (patient and family support; the Buddy Brigade (pet therapy); pastoral care; and social work.

Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $4.7 billion.
