York senior Trevor Kelly, who led the Bay Rivers District in batting as a junior, has committed to play baseball for George Mason University next year.

Kelly, who also plays AAU ball for SoCal National out of June Lake, Calif., has started for the Falcons since his freshman year at both second and third base. He is being recruited by GMU as a middle infielder.

As a junior last year, Kelly led the Bay Rivers District with a .560 batting average with a team-high 29 RBI and 26 runs. He finished the season with a .900 fielding percentage at third base en route to earning first team all-Bay Rivers District and all-Region I honors. He received an honorable mention on the all-state team.

“He was probably the best hitter in our district last year as a junior,” veteran York coach Rusty Ingram said of Kelly. “He’s a hard-working kid with a good attitude and a long body. I think his best days are ahead of him.”
