Jamestown def. Poquoson 25-9, 25-13, 25-9
Maria Esch finished with 13 kills, 10 digs, three aces and 1.5 blocks as Jamestown swept Poquoson 3-0 to finish off its second straight unbeaten Bay Rivers District regular season. Monique St. Cyr added 36 assists and Tess Anderson and Victoria Bowen contributed eight digs apiece for the Eagles (21-1), who will open next week’s Conference 19 tournament at home.
Grafton def. Tabb 25-19, 25-15, 25-11
Savannah Baxley blocked four shots to give her 90 for the season and Kendall Mahony finished with 14 kills as Grafton cruised past Tabb. The Clippers (18-4) will enter next week’s Conference 19 tournament on a seven-game winning streak.
Warhill def. New Kent 25-14, 25-19, 25-23
Alex Koon led the way with 14 kills and 11 digs and Megan Harrigan added 29 assists, three digs and one block as Warhill swept New Kent in three games on the road Thursday. The Lions finished with regular season with a 16-7 overall record (11-7 BRD).
Smithfield def. Bruton 25-21, 25-22, 27-25
Alexis Calloway tallied 12 digs, two assists and two aces and Shayla Hillian chipped in with eight kills, six digs, five blocks and three aces in Bruton’s three-set home loss against Smithfield on Thursday. The Panthers will travel in next week’s conference tournament opener.
