WILLIAMSBURG— The Three Jolly Coachmen’s Coffee House, a bi-monthly series of concerts held in Bruton Parish Episcopal Church’s fellowship hall, has donated $2,000 to the Lackey Clinic in keeping with its tradition of donating a portion of ticket sales to a local organization doing work in the community.
The Three Jolly Coachmen say that the sellout crowd at the last performance of the Route 5 Ramblers, plus generous additional donations audience members gave, made the donation possible. Lackey Clinic Chief Executive Officer Larry Trumbore and Director of Resource Development Kim Spencer accepted the check on behalf of the Clinic, a faith-based nonprofit which has provided free and charitable healthcare to uninsured adults in Virginia since 1995.
“It has been a real privilege to partner with 19 charities in the Williamsburg area since we began the series in 2022,” said Greg Davy, a member of the Three Jolly Coachmen, a Kingston Trio tribute group. “Due to our audiences’ amazing generosity, we’ve been able to donate more than $26,000 during our four seasons.”
The next concert is scheduled for Friday, May 8, when the Three Jolly Coachmen will present another concert of the tunes made popular by the Kingston Trio. The group also has announced that there will be a fifth Coffee House season to begin in September. A full performance schedule of performers and dates is forthcoming.
