It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our mother, Doris V. Carter, who filled our lives with love and devotion. She passed away peacefully on March 30th, leaving behind a legacy of determination, hard work and a deep commitment to family. Doris loved gardening, cooking, sewing, quilting, but most of all her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband Edward Carter, baby daughter, Aris Elaine, sisters, Rae Ward, Evelyn Hostetter and her parents Robert L. and Elsie Via.
She is survived by her son, Robert Carter (Kay), daughter, Wendy Dean (Skip) and grandchildren Jennifer Ronk (Johnny), Angela Morris (Travis), Kristen Simpson (Paul), Jason Dean (Laurel), and Robbie Dean (Alison).
She had 12 great grandchildren: Samatha Ronk, Kaylee, Kelsey Karlie Morris, Henry and Hudson Orndorff, Jacob, Ronan, Aurelia and Teddy Dean, Abby and Ryan Dean and great-great grandchildren, Meisyn, Myles; brothers, Louis Via, Sonney Via and Walter Via of West Point; sisters- Betty Kelso, Stuarts Draft VA, and Linda Smith of West Point, VA.
Doris was 95 years young.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations to the First Baptist Church or West Point Fire and Rescue.
