Kevin Andrew Voitlein, known affectionately to his loved ones as Andy, passed away on March 25, 2026.
Born in Hampton, Virginia on November 11, 1959, Kevin brought an adventurous spirit and a courageous heart to all that he did. Throughout his life, he demonstrated an exceptional knack for turning the ordinary into extraordinary, living by the mantra, “It’s always an adventure.” As Mark Twain once said, “Twenty years from now, you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Kevin fully embraced this philosophy, bringing a sense of adventure and exploration to every aspect of his life.
Kevin was a thoughtful man who passionately pursued the things he loved. He was a skilled technician in the RV repair business, where he put his love for problem-solving to good use. Kevin also found solace in the great outdoors, his hobbies of fly fishing and hunting reflecting his love for nature and adventure. His courage was evident in his tenure as a firefighter, a role that allowed him to serve his community with bravery and dedication. However, the achievement he treasured most was not one that came with a trophy or a title, but rather the countless moments and memories he created with his loved ones.
Kevin lived in various places throughout his life, including New York and Florida, before finally settling in Charles City, Virginia, where he spent the last three years. He was a loving husband to Kimberly Voitlein, his partner in every adventure. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Rita Voitlein. Those who knew Kevin will remember him as a man who loved deeply and lived fully. His legacy of adventure, courage, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
We invite you to celebrate Kevin’s life by sharing your memories and photos on his memorial page. Your stories and pictures will serve as a reminder of the adventurous, thoughtful, courageous, and loving man that Kevin was. They will help keep his spirit alive and provide comfort to all who miss him. Let us remember Kevin as he was – a man who truly believed that life was an adventure to be lived to its fullest.
