Hong Huu Tu, born on June 9, 1952, in Vietnam, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, in Newport News at the age of 73.
Hong was a dedicated and hardworking individual who spent his career as a Food Packer at Iceland Seafood. He was known for his craftsmanship and passion for carpentry, often spending his free time creating beautiful works with wood. Alongside his love for building, Hong had a deep appreciation for exotic birds, finding joy and tranquility in their vibrant colors and melodic songs.
Family was at the center of Hong’s life. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Van Thi Nguyen; his son, Hai Tu; and his daughter, Yen Tu. His sisters, Tu yen Phan and Tu My. His daughter-in-law, Lan Tu. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Chase Overton, Justin Tu, and Jaxon Tu, who brought immense joy to his later years.
Hong is preceded in death by his parents, Luong Anh and Cu Tu, and his beloved sisters, Tu Ngoc Khoan, Tu Nguyet Khoan, Tu Muoi, Tu Ngoc Tai, and Tu Ngoc.
His family and friends will always remember him for his warmth, kindness, and the love he shared with those around him. Hong’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
