Betty Ann Lott, born on February 21, 1946, in New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on April 1, 2026, in Chesapeake, Virginia, at the age of 80.
Betty dedicated her life to caring for others and made a significant impact in her community through her work in nursing. After graduating from nursing school in 1976, she embarked on a fulfilling career in Denver, Colorado, where she devoted 39 years to the profession. Her compassion and leadership were evident during her tenure as Director and Manager of a children’s clinic in Arvada, Colorado, where she worked tirelessly to provide care for underprivileged children.
In 2015, Betty retired from her long-standing career and returned to her hometown, where she continued to serve as a nurse with Avoyelles Head Start. Her commitment to nurturing and supporting young lives was unwavering, and she remained a dedicated caregiver until her passing.
Betty was preceded in death by her mother, Iris Carter; her step-father, Wilson “Pee Wee” Carter; her sister, Alice Ponthier Taylor; and her brother, Elton Ponthier, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter Deborah Lott, her son Ricky Lott and his wife Michelle, as well as her youngest son Brian Lott with his wife Lynn, her beloved grandchildren Meghan Tucker and husband Cameron, Luke Estep, Nicolas Lott, and Brooke Lott. She also leaves behind her great grandchildren Leland and Evelyne Tucker.
Betty Ann Lott’s legacy of kindness, dedication, and service to others will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
