Carr L. “Buddy” Harris, 70 years old, of King William County, passed away on February 1, 2026.

He is survived by his loving spouse, Diane; children, Brandon and Samuel (Athena); brothers, Richard (Becky) and Matthew (Julie); sister, Kathy (Karen); nieces and nephew, Bonnie, Nikki (Luke), Kelly, Alexandria and Eddie; sisters-in-law, Catherine and Cheryl; and great nephews, Miles and Van; as well as a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Buddy spent his early childhood years in Windsor, Virginia and at his grandparents’ family farm, he always cherished this time in his life. He was a native of Franklin, Virginia and a graduate of Franklin High School in 1974. He enlisted in the Army at an early age and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant with the 11th Cavalry in Germany (Engineering). After his military service, he enlisted in the Army Reserve and over the years worked as a Draftsman, Surveyor and a Licensed Electrician.

Buddy was an avid reader whose hobbies included raising and breeding game birds, rock hunting and fishing.

Above all he was a loving and selfless husband, father, brother and friend. Buddy’s family always came first; they were his greatest joy. He mastered any field he chose to study. People speak of “good men”, well he was one of them. His knowledge, kindness, moral convictions and unfailing love molded the man we knew and loved. Although our hearts are broken that he has left this earth, we know we will be together again. “Don’t make God’s ears bleed from talking Buddy!”
