Margaret Ann “Peggy” Nettles, 86, passed away on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at her home in Seaford.
Peggy was a native of Newport News and lifelong peninsula resident. She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Robinson Hartman and Frank Edward Hartman Sr. She graduated from St. Vincent High School in Newport News, now Peninsula Catholic. She also graduated from Riverside School of Nursing.
Peggy was an active member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Yorktown, VA, before her health declined.
She is survived by her husband Williams “Bill” Nettles of 63 years, a daughter Suzette Sapp and her husband Richard and a son, Timothy Nettles, brothers James Joseph Hartman and Robert E. Hartman, and grandchildren, Richard Sapp, Jr. (Kaitlyn), Megan Sapp and Noel Williamson, 4 great grandchildren, Kennedy, Penelope, Brielle and Cooper. She was preceded in death by her brother Frank E. Hartman, Jr., Bernard Hartman, Thomas Hartman, and David E. Hartman. She also leaves behind her sister-in-laws, Anna, Bonnie, Colleen, and Debbie along with many nieces and nephews.
