Zollie “Scott” Jones, 74, of Newport News, VA, passed away at this home on Monday, November 17, 2025.
He was born in Houston, TX, the son of the late William Arthur Morris and Robert and Ollie (May) Jones. Scott grew up in Houston, Midland and Dallas, Texas. He graduated from High School at Justin F. Kimball in Dallas, TX and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts while serving in the military.
Scott was a retired Air Force Veteran in active duty for 20 years as a fuel technician specialist and served during the Persian Gulf War and Desert Storm. He was stationed in Germany from 1983-1995 where he met Veronika, the love of his life. They were united in marriage on September 9, 1987.
After retiring from the military in 1997 from Langley AFB, he was a school bus driver and then drove a bus to transport troops at Ft. Eustis.
He was a member of the American Legion.
Scott enjoyed riding and working on motorcycles and classic cars, collecting vintage stereo equipment, working in his yard, going to movies, taking pictures, eating out, and watching movies on Netflix.
Most of all, he loved visiting with his family, near and far. He was extremely proud of his children and loved joking with his granddaughters.
In addition to his parents, Scott is predeceased by one sister, Robin Jones and one son, Justin Thomas (J.T.) Jones.
Surviving is his loving, devoted wife, Veronika Jones of Newport News, VA; three sons: Brian (Bonnie) Jones of Maryville, TN, Michael (Silke) Jones of Little Rock, AR, and Christian Jones of Honolulu, HI, one daughter: Stefanie (Cameron) Jasper of Seaford, VA; four granddaughters: Taylor, Gia, Madison and Aubrey; two brothers: William “Bill” (Christina) Jones of Rockport, TX and Robert (Peggy) Jones II of Melissa, TX; one sister: Bonna (Matt) Williamson of College Station, TX; and several nieces and nephews.
