Ruby Ann Marshall, 84, of West Point, Virginia passed away Sunday, September 7, 2025 with her family by her side.
Ruby was a high-energy, hard-working woman, who never missed work or shied away from a task. She had a “green thumb” and enjoyed growing beautiful flowers around her home. Ruby was also talented in the kitchen, made the best potato and chicken salad, and always delivered with her walnut pound cake and Swedish tea ring. Christmas time was a big event in Ruby’s home; she would fill her home with the scents of fudge, almond joys and Christmas cookies being lovingly made. She was THE BEST “Santa Claus” and made the season a joy for everyone around her!
For the past 25 years, the family would vacation at the beach together and Ruby always showed up prepared to clam. She was a beautiful lady who made life fun and full with the youthful spirit she carried into her 70’s. She loved Elvis, being barefoot, and dancing with her dear husband.
Ruby will be remembered for the kind and selfless woman she was. The countless ways she loved her family will be treasured in their hearts. “How lucky were we to have a wife, mother, and grandmother like you?”
She is survived by her husband of 66 years Walter Marshall; a daughter Janine Waxmunski (Gary) of West Point; a son Keith Marshall (Angie) of Charlotte, North Carolina; three grandchildren Sam Marshall of Charlotte, North Carolina, Megan Marshall of Boston, Massachusetts, and Nicholas Waxmunski of West Point; a sister Betty Walden and a brother Michael Gayle.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 10th at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, VA 23181. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
