Claire Zilli Verdini, 78, passed away on August, 4, 2025 at Williamsburg Landing, Skilled Nursing Facility.
Born in Somerville, NJ, she was the daughter of Inez and Harry Zilli. Claire graduated from Somerville High School and Berkley College. Before retiring, she was employed by Research- Cottrell and CNA insurance in various positions from administrative to management. Through the years, she took great pride and pleasure in baking unique dog and cat cakes, under the name Frieda’s Favorites (named after her first Weimaraner) and in crocheting heirloom baby afghans and hats under the name Lullaby Loops.
Claire is predeceased in death by her parents, brothers Robert and Kenneth; and beloved husband Henry. She is survived by sisters in law, Nancy Zilli, of Williamsburg, VA and Janet Zilli of Santa Maria, CA; niece Kathleen Zilli McLernon (Brad) and sons Ryan and Sean Healy; nephew, Matthew (Corey) and sons Lincoln and Colton; nephew Andrew (Krissy) and children Cashel and Guilana.
Visitation will be on August, 14, 2025 at Bucktrout Funeral Home in Williamsburg, VA, from 5:00 PM – 7:00PM. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua in West Orange, NJ, on August 16, 2025 at 11:00AM with interment at St. Gertrude Mausoleum in Colonia, NJ to follow at 12:30PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tri-State Weimaraner Rescue (in Memory of Frieda, Rudi, Sophie and Gunny), and Home Fur Hounds (in honor of Copper).
