She was a 1954 graduate of New Kent High School. She was a lifelong member of Providence United Methodist Church where she was involved with the children’s choir, bible school, adult choir, UMW society, homecoming, and last but not least, she married her husband Norwood at Providence in 1955. She enjoyed homecoming at church each year. She especially enjoyed getting to see the folks that would come back to visit and enjoy all the wonderful food that Providence had to offer.
Kathleen was well known across the county for her cooking, but most of all her poundcake and key lime pie. In fact, one of her black walnut poundcakes was auctioned off for $400 at one of the church bake sales.
She had a love for birds, and she would keep her feeders stocked by making sure they never ran out of food. She also enjoyed sitting in her kitchen and watching the hummingbirds at her kitchen window.
She was the last surviving member of the Fab 5. This group consisted of Shirley Francisco, Mary Bryant, Mable Ward, and Liz Yates.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 21, 2025, at Providence United Methodist Church 4001 New Kent Hwy, Quinton, VA 23141, where the family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.
