Paul Barrington Morris was born August 30, 1957 to the late Esau Ray and Florence Smith Morris and died November 9th, 2024 at his home.
He was the fourth child of ten and lived his entire life in King and Queen County.
Paul worked at the West Point paper mill for more than 40 years in the woodyard, running heavy equipment, which was his passion. There he made many treasured friends. Paul met and married the love of his life, Bonnie Gatewood, in 1980.
He was the proud father of two fine young men, whom he adored, Travis (Angela) and Joshua (Rachel); along with his beautiful granddaughters, Kaylee, Kelsey, Karlie and Natalie; his adored grandson, Nolan; and his great-grandsons, Meisyn and Myles; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Connie and Russ South; and nephew and niece, Ellis and Nicole South. Paul is also survived by his loving brothers and sisters, Ruth Carlton (William Davis), Mary Kate Rich (Jerry), Jessie McGrath (Joe), Seabrook Morris (Sarah), Barbara Prince (Chris), Billy Morris (Marcey), Joe Morris (Lori), and Jimmy Morris; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother and sister-in-law, David Ray and Doris Morris.
The family would like to thank all of the extended family members who dedicated time to lovingly care for Paul when he came home on hospice.
Paul’s family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 13th at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th St., West Point, VA 23181. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, also at the funeral home, and interment will follow in Lower King & Queen Baptist Church Cemetery, Mascot, VA.
