Laura Lynne McLellon Balfour, 73, a 19-year resident of Barhamsville, Va., passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024.
She was born in Newport News and grew up in the Lee Hall area. As a teen, she met the love of her life, Tommy R. Balfour at Fort Eustis, Va. They were married in October 1966 and had two children.
Laura held various occupations throughout her life as she traveled to several states and to Europe with her family as an Army wife.
Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy R. Balfour.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon B. Thomas (Eric); son, Daniel N. Balfour; grandson, Nicholas Worley (Morgan); granddaughter, Katelynne Thomas; and two great grandchildren, Lucas and Carson. Laura is also survived by her sisters, Karen (Harold) and Neala (Gwen); brother, Roger (Debbie); along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and countless friends. She will also be missed by her beloved dog, Stella Blue.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to ne made in Laura’s memory to Hospice House of Williamsburg.
