Donald Allen Roberts Jr. of Williamsburg, Virginia entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 22, 2024. He was surrounded by his family, and friends at Riverside Doctors Hospital in Williamsburg, VA.
Born on July 27, 1958 at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. He was the Son of the late Col. Donald Allen Roberts Sr, and Lorraine Ann Petri Roberts of Williamsburg, VA.
He is survived by his beloved wife Jennifer Lynne Roberts, his son Brandon Darnell Fuson and wife Megan Ann Fuson, his beloved granddaughter Cailean Ann all of Frederick, MD. Brother and sister in law Tom and Vickie Rohrer, Niece Samantha Schmidt, great nieces Paige, and Morgan Schmidt, all of Salisbury, MD. As well as Nephew Jon Schmidt and family of Delaware. Many more cousins, and Three adored fur babies Flash, Mollie, and Ellie.
Don enjoyed life and found it best spent with his friends and family. He was so thankful to get to see his best childhood friend Tracy Bunting, Angie and her sister, when passing through Williamsburg. Don always had great stories to tell with such enthusiasm of his life growing up as a “Military Brat” and traveling the world.
He graduated from Balboa High School in, Panama, and received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science at the University of Massachusetts.
Don spent twelve years teaching and guiding the young cadets at New York Military Academy (NYMA) taking great pride in the individual successes and achievements that have come from those halls in the years since.
Beyond Don’s love for his friends, family, country, and military, Don’s first true love in life was golf. He spent years as a retail buyer and seller in the industry, and managed one of America’s Top 100 Golf Resort and Pro Shop’s during his time at Kingsmill Resort, which at the time often featured the PGA and/or LPGA tour for the Michelob Open every October. As a product of his love and dedication to the golf industry, Don was invited to the Jack Nicklaus Invitational where upon arrival he was informed he would be grouped with Mr. Nicklaus himself, a dream come true for nearly every golfer.
After leaving Kingsmill Don wore many hats some of which included being an independent golf rep, a store manager, a fighter of Sarcoidosis, a loving husband, father, brother in law, uncle, and “Poppy”
