It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Darlene Jernigan, who departed this world on December 7, 2024. She was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Darlene’s unwavering love and kindness touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts.
Born into this world on June 19, 1947, Darlene lived a life filled with compassion and selflessness. Her infectious laughter and warm smile brought joy to those around her. She dedicated herself to her family as a devoted wife to John Jernigan for over three decades and a nurturing mother to their two children.
A service honoring Darlene’s life will be held at Forest Lawn in Norfolk. Altmeyer Funeral Home has been entrusted with facilitating the arrangements for this occasion. Friends and family are invited to gather together on January 30 at noon to pay their respects and celebrate the beautiful life she led.
Darlene will forever be remembered for her unwavering spirit and boundless love. Her legacy will continue through the memories shared by all those whose lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to a charity close to your heart.
